Coaches training sportspeople getting medals at international competitions to receive life allowance in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 November /MOLDPRES/ - Coaches who trained sportspeople who got medals at world or European championships will receive a life allowance, due to be paid monthly, under a legislative initiative which provides for the completion of the law on physical culture and sport, approved by the government today.
According to the new provisions, the coaches who reached the retirement age, have a length of service of at least 20 years and in the last years have trained disciples who got outstanding performances internationally, will benefit from the allowance. The new regulations refer including to persons who worked as coaches of sports teams of the former Soviet Union. Presently, there are about ten coaches who meet the aforementioned conditions and will benefit from allowance.
The size of the allowance will be set differentiated, depending on the level of the performance of the sportspeople trained. For instance, the sum paid to a coach will reach up to an average salary on the economy for gold medal got at Olympic Games.
The costs needed for implementing the project amount to about 550,000 lei annually, with the money due to be paid from the state budget. The document is to be submitted to parliament for consideration and approval.
