Twenty two fine arts works to complete collection of Moldova's National Art Museum

Chisinau, 11 December /MOLDPRES/ – A total of 22 works of plastic art worth MDL 525,000 will complete the collections of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova (MNAM). These ones were selected by the Expert Council (CE) for estimating, approving and purchasing the plastic works of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECC).
The works of art purchased represent works of painting, graphics, sculpture and decorative art realised by the notorious artists of Moldova, such as Valentina Rusu – Ciobanu, Elena Bontea, Olga Orlov, Sergiu Cuciuc, Elena Bontea, Dumitru Peicev, Vasile Nascu, Ion Sfecla, Nicolae Cotofana, Timotei Batranu, Tudor Catarga.
The works were purchased for the purpose of developing the state collections with works of plastic arts, but also for supporting, promoting and developing the artistic phenomenon in Moldova.
The national arts collection of MNAM has over 21,000 works made in different genres, techniques and fields and represents a synthesis of over a century of national arts, while reflecting its main trends and characteristics. The collection was completed in 2016.
