Local Action Groups from Moldova to be able to benefit from financing through LEADER programme

Chisinau, 27 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Local Action Groups from Moldova will be able to benefit from financing of the Rural Development Fund LEADER-EU. The deadline for submitting the files on participation is 30 March 2020.

The grants will be provided within the project, LEADER approach for rural prosperity in Moldova, financed by the European Union Delegation in Moldova, co-financed by the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Poland within the Polish Aid Programme for Development Cooperation. The 2020 issue is aimed at contributing to the development of the rural zones through the implementation and consolidation of LEADER approaches.

The overall budget of the appeal of proposals of the LEADER-EU 2020 Fund is almost 15.5 million lei. The Local Action Groups (GAL) from Moldova which meet the basic principles of the LEADER approaches and have the Local Development Strategy, approved at the General Assembly of the GAL Council, are eligible to participate.

The LEADER programme has been implemented in Moldova since 2015, with the support provided by development partners, and in cooperation with the Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry. Presently, there are over 30 Local Action Groups with more than 1,000 members in Moldova.

The Rural Development Fund LEADER-EU is an instrumented by the Solidarity Fund PL, in partnership with the LEADER National Network in Moldova. The Fund’s mission is to consolidate the local development in Moldova, through the co-financing of development projects, implemented by local partners.
