Chisinau, 8 April /MOLDPRES/ - The National Commission for Emergency Situations today ruled to toughen the conditions of the quarantine regime, introduced in the northern Soroca city four days ago.
„Unfortunately, the spread of the coronavirus continues in this settlement and the measures undertaken so far have not had the effect expected. Also, the residents and economic agents do not observe the conditions of the quarantine regime ruled by the authorities. Thus, the Commission for Emergency Situations established a severer and tougher quarantine regime for the Soroca municipality,’’ Prime Minister Ion Chicu said at the end of the meeting.
According to the PM, this regime sees the limiting of citizens’ movement to the maximum during the day and at night, with the involvement of services of the Defence Ministry and Interior Ministry, which will ensure the rules’ observance.
The instruction of the National Commission for Emergency Situations provides for more measures to this end, among which banning people older than 63 years from going outdoors (without a well-reasoned ground), prohibition of the movement, including in any types of vehicles, in groups of more than two persons, compulsory use of individual protection means, banning the online trade for all categories of goods, excepting the food, pharmaceutical, sanitary and hygienic products.
As many as 135 confirmed cases of COVID-19, four deaths, four recovered cases and 714 people under medical supervision were registered in the Soroca district today.
