Slovakia supports medical institutions in Tiraspol, Ceadar-Lunga in fight against COVID-19

Chisinau, 27 April /MOLDPRES/- The Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases in Tiraspol and Ceadar-Lunga district hospital will receive financial support from Slovakia in the fight against coronavirus. They are part of a Slovak project of small grants to combat COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova.
"After the pilot project for Drochia hospital, which was the first, Slovakia's small grant program to combat the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Republic of Moldova continues," said sources from the Slovak Embassy in Chisinau.
The second project will help the Center in Tiraspol. "The contribution of one hundred thousand euros will be used to purchase a specialized analysis device to increase the testing capabilities of biological samples taken from patients suspected of COVID-19," according to the Slovak diplomatic mission in our country.
The third project will help Ceadâr-Lunga hospital to purchase specialized medical equipment for treating and monitoring patients infected with COVID-19, as well as patients with other serious respiratory diseases. The request for the financial contribution for this project is about ten thousand euros.
Last week, Drochia district hospital has got assistance from Slovakia. Thus, the medical institution benefited from a contribution of ten thousand euros, which will allow the purchase of five multifunctional beds, especially useful in critical cases for patients who have to stay in bed for a long time.
