Campaign to distribute protective masks initiated in Ungheni

Chisinau, 14 May /MOLDPRES/- "A mask worn - a protected life" is the motto of a social campaign, launched by Ungheni city hall together with volunteers of a public organization and local people.

The initiators of the campaign will distribute this week masks from the batch of aid offered under the Program EU4Moldova: key regions (European Union for Moldova: key regions), funded by the EU and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

On 24 April, Cahul and Ungheni received aid from the EU to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance was provided under the second initiative of the EU4Moldova: Key Regions program. Out of a total budget of 23.3 million euros, the EU is investing 22.8 million to boost smart, inclusive and sustainable economic development in Cahul and Ungheni.

The EU4Ungheni initiative takes place in 2019-2025, being implemented by UNDP and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) with the strategic guidance of the EU Delegation to Moldova.
