Chisinau, 10 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival started today.
According to the Education, Culture and Research Ministry (MECC), the festival today starts with an inaugural concert nearby the Mimi Castle. It will be followed by a show with fragments from the most beloved works. Afterwards, a ballet gala and a gala concert will take place on the square of the Maria Biesu National Opera and Ballet Theatre. The first and last concerts will be held in open air, with physical presence of the audience. Both the today’s event, and the ones due on 13, 17 and 20 September will be broadcast live at the Moldova 1 public TV channel beginning with 21:00.
Education, Culture and Research Minister Igor Sarov considers that this event will be appreciated at the highest level, especially as given that the show arts represented one of the worst hit sectors in the last time. ‘’The Maria Biesu International Opera and Ballet Festival is a visiting card of Moldova, a homage paid to the prima donna of the National Opera, as well as a truthful blessing of the Euterpe muse. We invite you to enjoy together these superb opera and ballet shows, which will mark the gradual resumption of the cultural events, so much expected by the public,’’ the official said.
People willing to be physically present at the inauguration and closing concerts of the festival can buy tickets online through the website www.iticket.md.
