Chisinau, 24 November /MOLDPRES/ - The MPs of the Democratic Party (PDM) today unveiled a string of proposals for overcoming the situation triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, among which also the residents’ testing with quick tests based on antigen.
At a news briefing, PDM leader Pavel Filip said that the situation in Moldova was unprecedented and more urgent measures must be undertaken to change the things.
„We face an unprecedented crisis. The rate of positive tests is higher than 40 per cent. Almost a half of the people tested are positive. The authorities left their hands down and inform us that we have no more beds in hospitals. I did not see competent institutions, such as the Police and the National Public Health Agency, sanctioning or amending. It is right that the people do not observe the restrictions; yet, they cannot observe the rules, if those who infringe them are not sanctioned,’’ Filip noted.
The Democrats’ leader said that he would propose three urgent measures. ‘’We ask the government to come up with a clear-cut list of rules on this period, so that each citizen knows what he/she is allowed and not allowed to do. We demand that the police and law-enforcement bodies ensure the observance of these restrictions and we propose the residents’ quick testing with tests based on antigen. Their cost is 100 lei and we have the results in 15-39 minutes. This is a cheaper solution – the quick testing, which is used in more countries,’’ Filip added.
As many as 98,418 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.
