President-elect presents priorities

Chisinau, 25 November /MOLDPRES/- President-elect Maia Sandu held a briefing today and presented priorities for the next period. These include a balanced foreign policy and fair justice.
Maia Sandu said that immediately after taking office, she intends to "take the Republic of Moldova out of international isolation and to pursue a positive foreign policy".
"I want a foreign policy that will benefit the citizens of Moldova. I want the Republic of Moldova to be a European state and to have pragmatic relations with other partners as well ", said Sandu.
She noted that in the first period after taking over the position of head of state, she will organize the visit to Chisinau of President of Romania Klaus Iohannis.
Justice is also among the priorities listed by Sandu. "I will approve a new composition of the Supreme Security Council. The most resounding files will be the first topics discussed. I will create at the level of the presidential institution a mechanism on appointment of judges ", she said.
"I know that this situation created by the pandemic is becoming more and more difficult for us. It is very important to be careful and protect ourselves. The lives of those around us depend on our responsibility. Please postpone the parties for later. We are in a very big health and economic crisis ", she said.
