Moldovan parliament approves strategy for ensuring independence, integrity in justice sector for 2021-2024

Chisinau, 26 November /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today approved the strategy for ensuring the independence and integrity in the justice sector for 2021-2024 and the action plan for its implementation.

Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi unveiled the document in the parliament’s plenum. After more hours of discussion, 49 out of the 87 lawmakers present in the session hall backed the strategy.

The strategy’s goal is to improve the justice sector, through creation of premises for an independent, impartial, responsible and efficient justice sector.

The document of policies contains three strategic intervention directions: independence, responsibility and integrity of the actors from the justice sector; access to justice and quality of the justice act; efficient and modern management of the justice sector.

The financial sources needed for implementing the strategy will be covered from the state budget, financial means of international organizations and support provided by development partners.
