Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - Five wines of Moldova have got the Grand Gold – the highest distinction provided at Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada – regarded as the most appreciated specialized competition in North America. Thus, Moldovan wines entered the Top 50 most appreciated wines.
Also, in late last November, the Wine of Moldova established a new record at the Galicja Vitis international contest in Poland, where it was awarded 72 golden medals. „Despite the period marked by major changes in the world, the work carried out by the members of the wine-making industry is appreciated internationally. The National Office of Vine and Wine will continue backing the participation of Moldovan wine-makers in the most important specialized international contests,’’ the ONVV deputy director, Irina Bistritchi, said.
For the first time ever, 14 wineries of Moldova participated in Sélections Mondiales des Vins Canada, which this was held under the patronage of the International Organization of Vine and Wine.
