Chisinau, 2 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM) will confirm or invalidate the lawfulness of the presidential elections from 15 November, only after the appeals’ final settlement in courts.
CCM today informed that it would give its ruling on the lawfulness of the presidential polls while observing the provisions of the Article 122 from the Electoral Code, which refers to the term of ten days following the reception of the acts from the Central Electoral Commission, but not before the final settlements of the appeals submitted in court, in order to validate or invalidate the results.
“Taking into account the fact that the courts have not definitively settled all appeals in terms of electoral matters, the Court cannot give its opinion on the elections’ lawfulness for the time being,’’ the Constitutional Court’s announcement reads.
The runoff presidential election took place in Moldova on 15 November 2020. More than two weeks after this ballot, won by Maia Sandu, the constitutional judges have not given their ruing on the results of the polls as yet.
