Embassy of Qatar provided humanitarian aid to Society of Disabled People of Moldova

Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/- The Embassy of Qatar today provided a batch of humanitarian aid to the Society of Disabled People of Moldova, in the context of marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

The batch containing various equipment was sent by Hamad bin Rashid Al-Athba, the Charge d'Affaires of the Embassy of Qatar in Moldova. He said that the mission aims to come in the future with aid for special people, who face more difficulties, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

December 3 is International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The annual marking of this day was proclaimed in 1992, by resolution 47/3 of the United Nations General Assembly and is part of the lot of actions for the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Republic of Moldova signed the Convention on 13 December 2006 and ratified it on 21 October 2010.
