Chisinau, 3 December /MOLDPRES/ - The general education institutions from the Moldovan capital will continue working according to the models (I-VII), selected in the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. At the same time, citizens are called to back the authorities’ efforts through observing the safety measures for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 infection, in order to avoid the return to the distance learning, in the context of the evolution of the pandemic situation.
The Chisinau deputy mayor, Angela Cutasevici, today said that the education in the Chisinau-based education institutions would be further held according to the model selected in the beginning of the academic year.
According to the official, the model of distance learning will be applied only in cases when the number of teachers or pupils sick with the new-type coronavirus is large and will make organization of the education process in classrooms impossible. Cutasevici noted that only two education institutions were carrying out distance work.
Presently, 150 primary and secondary education institutions work in Chisinau. At the same time, over 70 per cent of pupils in schools are daily present in classrooms.
