Moldovan police inform to ensure public order at protest scheduled for 6 December

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - The police have informed that it would ensure the public order at a rally scheduled for 6 December and urged the citizens to protest peacefully and observe the sanitary norms.
At a news briefing, the deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate, Marin Maxian, said the policemen were open for cooperation with the protests’ organizers and urged the residents to protest peacefully, without destabilizing the situation.
Maxian noted that it is necessary that the citizens observe the measures of protection against the COVID-19 virus, imposed by the National Commission for Public Health and urged the residents to come to protests equipped with masks and not forget about the social distance.
„The police ask organizers to endow the protesters with masks and disinfectant and warn the people who do not wear masks correctly. If the protest lasts more than three hours, organizers are warned to again equip protesters with protection masks,’’ Maxian noted.
President-elect Maia Sandu announced a protest in the Moldovan capital for 6 December, during which she will demand that the government and parliament leave. More parties informed that they would join the action.
