Moldovan top officials convened in meeting

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/- The top officials of the country convened in a meeting today. Prime Minister Ion Chicu said that for the next few weeks the priority is to adopt budget laws, otherwise in 2021 the Republic of Moldova could face serious economic problems.

According to the premier, the projects should be promoted in parliament by late 2020 so that state structures can operate normally and salaries and pensions can be paid on time.

"Politicians in parliament should come up with amendments. We are waiting for them. We will review and approve them in the government in the hope that next week the budget will be adopted ", said Chicu.

He said he hoped "politicians will put politics aside a bit and focus on these four important projects."

Last week, the parliament approved in first reading the four draft budget laws.
