Moldova, Japan to sign new grant agreement to support national health system

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Aureliu Ciocoi, received on Monday in audience Katayama Yoshihiro, Japan's Ambassador to Moldova. The officials discussed the current issues in the Moldovan-Japanese relationship, new goals in bilateral cooperation and the agenda of priority events between our countries, the MAEIE press service has reported.
Ciocoi welcomed the recent organization of the first meeting of the parliamentary friendship group and the Moldovan-Japanese business forum, held in videoconference format, and thanked for the assistance provided by the Japanese government through official development assistance programs (grants and concessional loans) to Moldova aimed at contributing the economic and social modernization of our country.
Under the COVID-19 pandemic, the Moldovan official appreciated the Japanese side's willingness to sign this month through an exchange of notes a new grant agreement meant to support the national health system.
The sides exchanged views on medium-term priorities, reiterating Moldova's interest in participating with a country stand in 2025 Osaka World's Fair.
