Veterans to get increased allowances from 1 January 2021

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- Several categories of veterans will receive monthly state allowances increased from 1 January 2021. The promulgation decree and the law amending Article 2 of Law No121/2001 on the additional social protection of certain categories of population were published in the Official Journal today.
Thus, the participants in the fighting actions for the defense of the territorial integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the participants in the fighting actions in Afghanistan and other countries will receive allowances worth 500 lei per month, compared to 300 lei as in present. 26,350 people will benefit from the increase.
At the same time, people with disabilities as a result of the fighting actions and as a consequence of the Chernobyl accident will get higher allowances of 100 lei per month. Respectively, the value of the allowance will be 800 lei per month, 650 lei per month and 575 lei per month.
The project also provides for the granting of the right to a monthly state allowance worth 700 lei to persons trained by local authorities in the collection of ammunition and military equipment, in demining territory and objects during the World War II.
