Moldovan deputy premier meets Latvian envoy

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Olga Cebotari had a meeting today with Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts. The officials approached a wide range of issues on agenda of negotiations on Transnistrian settlement and main directions of Chisinau in this regard, the Office for Reintegration Policies has reported.
They also discussed the situation on observance of fundamental human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian region, the challenges of the pandemic and the support measures taken by the Moldovan authorities to provide the necessary support to people on both banks of the Dniester.
The deputy premier informed about the approval at the meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council last week of a new Declaration on negotiation in the 5 + 2 format on the Transnistrian settlement, and pointed out the intention to ensure a constant dynamic of dialogue in all existing negotiating formats on Transnistrian settlement and to make upward progress in fulfilling the agreed commitments in the so-called Berlin + package.
The officials agreed to maintain prodigious cooperation on various issues of common interest and expressed their willingness to provide assistance on reciprocal basis.
