Business people from Moldova, Romania participate in online business summit

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - Priainvest and Invest Moldova on 8 December organized the biggest online summit on business cooperation between Moldova and Romania: investments, funds, import-export and ideas for the development of entrepreneurs from both countries.   

At the event, entrepreneurs from the sectors of IT, constructions, agriculture, traditional and online retail, industry, health, bankers, economists, lawyers and managers from Moldova and Romania, along with authorities and business associations discussed on the most important subjects of common interest, opportunities of cooperation and extension on the two markets, as well as investments, financings, imports and exports.   

Attending the event, the state secretary at the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry (MEI), Iuliana Dragalin, stressed that Romania was presently the most important European partner of Moldova from the commercial and investment viewpoint, which provides the country with constant support in the process of implementing the Moldova-EU Association Agreement, as well as assistance in the strategic sectors of the national economy.  

„Romania has been for us a firm supporter within the European institutions, in the process of reforms’ implementation and achieving the European integration goal. During out bilateral cooperation, we have managed to get nice results; therefore, it is important that we further consolidate efforts for generating more joint projects and success stories, which will contribute to the economic growth. I encourage Romanian companies to start businesses in Moldova and benefit including from fiscal facilities and attractive conditions offered by the Free Economic Zones, Industrial Parks from Moldova, multifunctional industrial platforms, Moldova IT Park, ‘’ Iuliana Dragalin said.  

The state secretary noted that major attention should be paid also to the participation of Romanian companies in infrastructure projects, especially on the inter-connection in the field of bridges, which represents an important element for the commercial relations and work of economic agents from both countries.

At present, 1,709 Romanian companies work in Moldova with the investments in the registered share capital amounting to 3.8 billion lei. In this respect, Romania ranks first among the main investors of Moldova, both in terms of the value of capital invested and according to the number of enterprises with Romanian capital.
