Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan government, at a today’s meeting, approved a new nominal composition of Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC). The delegation will be led by a chief consultant at State Chancellery’s Reintegration Policies Bureau, Ion Solonenco.

According to an informative note to the draft, the government approved the nominal composition of Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission, in order to ensure the implementation of the provisions of the agreement on the principles of peaceful settlement of the armed conflict from Moldova’s Transnistrian region (signed on 21 July 1992).

Under its activity regulation, Moldova’s delegation to JCC has no legal personality, works permanently, in order to ensure control over the observance of the ceasefire regime, carrying out the agreements on the withdrawal of armed forces and other formations, military technology and weaponry, continuous monitoring of the situation in the Security Zone, as well as contributing to the peaceful settlement of the conflict and by political means.

The delegation is made up of the delegation head, members, experts with permanent status, who represent the central public administration authorities according to the sectors of competence. They work in the delegation through participating in working meetings, elaborating documents and carrying out other actions envisaged in the Regulation.

The requests received from delegating institutions were at the basis of elaboration of the draft decision, through which the approval of the new composition of Moldova’s delegation to JCC was suggested. The delegating institutions put forward the candidacies of members and experts with permanent status or informed about the change of the positions held by them. Thus, the new candidacies included in the draft were put up by the Intelligence and Security Service, Interior Ministry, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry and Defence Ministry.

This decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
