Moldova, Brazil to sign agreement on abolition of short-stay visas

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members today voted a decision on starting negotiations and approving the signing of the agreement, compiled by exchange of notes, between the governments of Moldova and Federative Republic of Brazil on the abolition of short-stay visas for owners of ordinary passports.
The draft agreement has the goal to develop and strengthen the friendship and cooperation relations between the two states by giving the citizens holding ordinary passports possibility of mutual free-visa travel.
The draft document fits into the category of inter-governmental treaties and contains nine points, which regulate the conditions of entrance, stay and transit of the territories of the two countries by both states’ citizens.
The agreement is proposed to be signed for an indefinite period. Its amendment can be made in the conditions established by the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.
This decision enters into force on the date of its publication in Moldova’s Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial).
