Disabled people from all over Moldova to benefit from increases of compensations for transport

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers today ruled to gradually increase the compensation for transport services. Thus, the residents from all Moldova’s districts, including the Balti city, will benefit from the size of compensation provided for in the Chisinau municipality, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

This measure will enhance the degree of social protection of the people with special needs. Presently, the allocation is of 360 lei for the people with severe disabilities and disabled children with ages up to 18 years. The people with pronounced disabilities benefit from compensations worth 180 lei. The allocations are much smaller in the Moldovan districts and the Balti city.

So, about 145,600 people with disabilities will benefit increased compensation, of whom about 15,200 persons with disabilities of the locomotor apparatus. Calculations show that about 66,050.7 thousand lei is necessary for increasing the compensation on the period 2021-2023.

The additional financial means were proposed for working out the draft law on the state budget for 2021.
