As many as 1,766 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 3,792 samples have been processed in Moldova in the last 24 hours and 1,766 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus were confirmed, of which five import cases. As many as 120,970 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Moldova so far.

According to data put out by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MSMPS), 112 out of all cases are medical employees: physicians – 34, medical assistants –56, auxiliary staff employees – 22.

A number of 3,818 patients confirmed with COVID-19 are put in hospitals, of whom 265 are in extremely serious condition (61 patients are connected to assisted breathing apparatus).

In the context, 8,455 persons are treated at home with easy forms of coronavirus and 31,035 are under supervision at the domicile.

Another 1,408 people have been treated and discharged. As many as 103,973 people were treated of COVID-19.

At the same time, MSMPS informs about the registration of another 21 deaths triggered by COVID-19, with 2,481 people dead because of the virus till present. The virus killed also a 72-year-old physician cardiologist from Cahul. Fifty nine medical employees have died because of the COVID-19 infection till present.
